The numbers I have seen list the heavy trucks as using 10x the fuel per ton/mile compared to a train. see Energy Efficiency - Transportation sector (from the United States Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration)
Class 1 railroads - 341 BTU ton/mile
Domestic boats - 510 BTU ton/mile
Heavy Trucks - 3,357 BTU ton/mile
Air freight - 9,600 BTU ton/mile
IMO - The US Government should be pushing efficient mass-transit using NG & the new hybrids with regen braking. Not EV passenger car or 'High Speed' trains.
Thank you for finally cutting to the real problem..
I'm relatively uneducated on this whole issue all i know is that my health and well being is waaay too expensive. I wear glasses, I buy on average a pair of glasses every year. my glasses cost $350.00.. yes $350.00.
for what?? thin wire and glass...
I would understand if this was the turn of the century and they were crafted by an artisan or something.. but they were mass produced in some factory. i think the only reason they can charge so much is that insurance companies will pay..
it seems that the whole situation has only perpetuated itself, I'll buy those glasses because i need them, and my health care plan will pay for them because they know they make far more off me.. so on a whole i shouldn't care because its not directly costing me $350.00 out of my pocket.
this is where the reform should be taking place.
who says a pregnancy should cost 20 grand? who says a surgery costs 50 grand?? hospitals.. hospitals charge that to pay for doctors that may deserve it.. and also to make a profit and protect against mal-practice suits.
mal practice suits need reforming, what happened to firing people? or suspending without pay? or in extreme cases jail time? million dollar law suits don't affect a doctor directly, so what lesson are they going to learn? and if they are just a bad doctor, fire them.
health care reform is a problem.. and its nice that action has been taken fix some of the problems. i feel like more time should have been spent thinking and less time on just getting something done.
I have to Agree, One thing though. Some of you people do not see what others see. OUR GOVERNMENT IS ONE BIG SCAM. A MASSIVE PONZI. THE BIGGEST IN THE WORLD. I really do not care if they see this comment or post. There will come a time when we all get smart and go against these bastards. maybe not in our time. It will happen. They think they can control every aspect of our lives and control our hard earned money and how much you can save or earn. It's none of there business. People get smart and watch your backs, I do think it is wrong that these Geo's do what they do and not help with the money they stash. They could be donating that money to help homeless people and people that need the money. On the other hand our GOVERNMENT IS STEELING OUR HARD EARN MONEY AS WELL. Pay your taxes so we can spend it on crap that's not needed. The GOV is the one that put us in this mess. Wonder why people do not invest, Because our government will steel it right out from under you. You all need stop letting these people you vote into office making your decisions for you. Take control of your lives. IT'S ALL A BUNCH OF CRAP.... Our IRS is one big sham Again A massive Ponzi. They dont have enough money to pay the next person, So now they will go after what they think belongs to them. To me thats corupt. Time to wake up.
you are quite correct about the NWO, but so many Americans will not believe it and thus the plans move forward, sad
